Flatlanders         
While the north shore of the Island is hilly-thats where the glacial moraine was deposited after the last ice age-the middle of the Island and south shore are largely flat. This is evident in this view from the pedestrial overpass at Carle Place. A Huntington train is rolling east wrong main, due to the MOW crew working on track two, seen in the distance.
