SP #290
Title:  SP #290
Description:  Built in 1950 by Budd in Lot #9624-040 as SP Class 83-D-3 48 seat diner #10214, 1 of 6 such cars (#10210-#10215) built in that Lot for the SUNSET LIMITED; the Lot was ordered in June 1948, cars were delivered between June and July 1950. On the SUNSET LIMITED, dining and lounge cars were known by theme names: these 6 diners were the AUDUBON cars, the Class 83-L-2 club lounges were the FRENCH QUARTER cars, and the Class 83-DL-2 diner-(hamburger grill)-club lounges were the PRIDE OF TEXAS cars. In 1971, Amtrak acquired 5 of these 6 cars as #8060-#8064, 3 of these 5 cars were later converted to HEP and are still active; SP retained the #10214, which was renumbered in 1974 to #290. UP donated the #290 to CSRM in May 1998, along with FRENCH QUARTER club lounge #2987/#291. EXIF: 1:31 PM, f/3 @ 1/350

Title:  SP #2175
Description:  Built in 1921 by Pullman as Galveston, Harrisburg & San Antonio Class 60-C-9 coach #837, later T&NO #837, then SP #2175. Reconfigured at unknown date from coach to chair. This car was donated to CSRM by the Pacific Coast Chapter R&LHS in June 1978. If anyone has info regarding the Lot, Plan, and number of seats, feel free to comment. GN #42
Title:  GN #42
Description:  Built in 1951 by AC&F in Lot #3442 as a 60 RPO-baggage, 1 of 6 such cars (#37-#42) built in that Lot for the Mid-Century EMPIRE BUILDER; the Lot was ordered in October 1949, cars were delivered between October 1950 and March 1951. The #41 was transferred to CB&Q in 1953 as part of mileage adjustment and the #37 was scrapped in 1968. The remaining 5 cars were intended to be renumbered as #600-#603 and #607, the #42 as #603; but only #38-#39 were actually renumbered to #600-#601. Unlike the other 4 remaining cars which were transferred to MofW, the #42 was stored by BN in St. Paul until donated to CSRM in November 1979. EXIF: 10:41 AM, f/2.7 @ 1/8

Description:  Built in 1923 by AC&F, number unknown, formerly operated on the White Mountain Scenic before being acquired by a private owner, along with #642 and #644. The #642 and #644 were eventually donated to CSRM, after this third car had been moved to Colfax. The car is now owned by the Colfax Chamber of Commerce, painted as SP #1865, and leased out as business space.
