Description:  Interesting sideline to this 1919 Lima built 2-8-2 Mikado is they were originally built for the Pennsylvania RR but Pennsy rejected 33 of them so the USRA then re-assigned 26 of them to the SLSF roster and the rest to the MoPac. Description:  Bjuilt by Baldwin in 1930, this 2-8-2 Mikado was the last Mikados to be ordered by Frisco. Specs - serial # 61283, T-74 class, 63" drivers, 210 psi boiler pressure, 27x32" cylinders, engine weight of 375,790 lb, respectable tractive effort of 66,096 lb. TheseT-74 locos were the last of the Frisco's Mikes to retire, being "dismissed from service" between 5 March 1952 and 21 May 1956. The date is an approximate one as none was given for the photo.
