Description:  Regular Switcher and Slug set seen in Pasco,WA in October 1980. ET-2 was built by Northern Pacific as NP 650, a Baldwin VO-660 IN 1940. They rebuilt it as a slug NP ET-2 in 1960. It was finally retired in late 1988 after 48 years service. BN 179 was its regular mate being another NP loco as NP 120. It had a single life after BN, operating as NUCX 5, for Nucor Steel in Darlington,SC.

Description:  BN SW1200 179 at Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 23, 1984, photo by Chuck Zeiler. Number 179 was built in March 1955 as NP 120 (c/n 20329) on EMD Order 4290, and became BN 179 some time after the merger. At some point it was converted to power Electric Trailer 2, former NP Baldwin VO-660 number 650, rebuild completed in May 1960 by NP's South Tacoma Shops. Note the "skate" radio antenna above the headlight.

The assigned master unit was SW1200 179, built in March 1955 as NP 120 ( c/n 29329 ). This Electric Trailer (ET-2) was originally Northern Pacific Baldwin VO-660 128, built in May 1940 ( c/n 62392 ), renumbered to NP 650 in 1956, converted in May 1960 by the NP South Tacoma Shops to Electric Trailer ET-2, became BN ET-2 sometime after March 2, 1970, retired February 22, 1988, retired February 22, 1988, sold to Azcon Corporation in June 1988.
