Album Info:The oldest continuously operating railroad mainline in North America. Runs from Asheville, NC, to Spartanburg, SC. (Section from Hendersonville to Landrum closed.) Then from Spartanburg to Columbia and Columbia to Charleston. The section from Spartanburg to Columbia is dark territory.

The unit is a GP10, bulit for the Illinois Central RR in May of 1954 by EMD. The unit was then abondened in Chicage and was finally purchased and rebuilt for the Vulcan Corporation.The unit serves the largest granite quarry in the Southeastern US in Pacolet, SC.
