Description:  East Penn Railroad SW-900 52, still in the colors of former owner Philadelphia Bethlehem & New England Railroad, sits in the small yard at Topton near the NS interchange with the Kutztown Branch. The East Penn gave up operations on this line a little over a year after this photo was taken with the new Allentown & Auburn Railroad taking over. The vintage 1937 unit would later move to the ESPN Venice Industrial Track operation near Philadelphia.

Description:  This privately owned, wagon top caboose was constructed in the 1940s by the B&O's Keyser shops. The car is known in recent years to have come from the large caboose lineup in the former CNJ yard in Jim Thorpe, PA.

Description:  The Allentown & Auburn's vintage switcher idles next to the engine house prior to taking a trip to Kutztown. The unit still wears the green and yellow colors it acquired during its days on the Stewartstown Railroad in southern Pennsylvania. Originally built by EMC as a model SW for the Philadelphia Bethlehem & New England Railroad, it was later rebuilt and redesignated as an SW-900m in the 1950s. Photo taken with permission.

Title:  ESPN 52
Description:  Still awaiting departure to other East Penn operations, this old switcher sure blends in with the rest of the historical equipment arriving on the line. EMC constructed this unit in 1937 as a model NC for the Philadelphia Bethlehem & New England Railroad. Originally numbered PBNE 209, it was later rebuilt as an SW-900 and renumbered to its present road number, the first of two locomotive on the PBNE roster to be numbered as such. Description:  A former Warner Sand & Gravel Company Baldwin, still in the colors of its former owner, awaits restoration back to active service in front of the engine house. In recent time this locomotive has been in a variety of locations across eastern Pennsylvania including with the RCT&HS collection in Temple, the Rail Tours Inc. equipment at Jim Thorpe, and along the Luzerne & Susquehanna at Pittston. Description:  Has Conrail service returned to Kutztown? The Conrail Historical Society's restored caboose sits on display next to the old station. The station was constructed by the Philadelphia & Reading for the original Allentown & Auburn in 1869 while the caboose was built for the Erie Lackawanna in 1970.

Description:  Two switchers, both built by the Electro Motive Corporation in 1937 for the Philadelphia Bethlehem & New England Railroad, meet once again on the former RDG Kutztown Branch, although under two different owners. 52, a former NC, is now owned by the East Penn Railroad while 206, a former SW, is property of the newly formed Allentown & Auburn Railroad. Both were rebuilt by EMD in the 1950s to SW900m standards.
