Album Info:In September, 1984, the Cedar Valley began operations over the ICG's 101 mile Albert Lea district. Jack Haley was president of the CVAR and pioneered the concept of a dinner train and created the "Star Clipper". Haley later became president of the Chicago Central & Pacific, but was ousted in 1987, but retained ownership of the CVAR. Soo Line 375
Title:  Soo Line 375
Description:  A leased Soo Line GP7 on the C&NW "Spine Line" at Albert Lea. Albert Lea became an important Junction between the Minneapolis & St. Louis and Illinois Central as the two railroads teamed up to form a competitive route between the Twin Cities and Chicago. In the 1950's, it was common for M&StL F units to be used on the daily Cedar Lake-Waterloo turn. This joint marketing program ended in the late 1960's.
