NP "LOUNGE IN THE SKY" 4 double bedroom-4 roomette-2 single bedroom (4DB-4RM-2SB) sleeper buffet dome #377 (Budd, Lot #9669-141, Plan #9535/#9535A, 1954, NORTH COAST LIMITED), modified in 1967 from dome sleeper #311, by removing 2 of the 4 single bedrooms under the dome to add a buffet station and installing tables in the dome. To BN, intended as #1452, which was not applied, to Amtrak in 1971 as #9222, retired in the early 1980's and stored until sold in 1993 to Dirk Lenthe, later resold to Lon Orlenko-Monad Railway Equipment.. NP "LOUNGE IN THE SKY" 4 double bedroom-4 roomette-2 single bedroom (4DB-4RM-2SB) sleeper buffet dome #378 (Budd, Lot #9669-141, Plan #9535/#9535A, 1954, NORTH COAST LIMITED), modified in 1967 from dome sleeper #312, by removing 2 of the 4 single bedrooms under the dome to add a buffet station and installing tables in the dome. To BN, intended as #1453, which was not applied, to Amtrak in 1971 as #9223, retired in the early 1980's and stored until sold in 1993 to Dirk Lenthe, later resold to Lon Orlenko-Monad Railway Equipment, then resold again to Wade Pellizzer as the THEODORE D. JUDAH, work began to bring the car up to current PC2 specs for use, assigned #800601, car was once again sold in 2012, this time to Iowa Pacific as SLRG #312, received IC colors in 2014 and renamed NORTH COAST. Planned to be renumbered as BN #5083 (which was not applied), sold to Amtrak in 1971 as #5013, was planned to be converted to head end power (HEP) as #5002, which was cancelled, instead was converted to HEP in 1985 as 40 seat café car #8714 for the AUTO TRAIN, was stored in 1994, and was later acquired in 2010 by the Cincinnati RY Company and entered service in 2011 on the Cincinnati Dinner Train. Santa Fe F7A #306L is the lead engine for a railfan excursion up the old California Southern, seen here at the then-current end-of-the-line at Fallbrook. Line originally went from Fallbrook Junction (on the line to San Diego) to Fallbrook, through Camp Pendleton, Temecula, Perris, San Bernardino, and then over Cajon Pass to Barstow. The #418 set was wrecked at Cut Bank, MT, on 1/10/1952, with the #418A (opposite end being totaled), and the #418D seen here subsequently being rebuilt to F7A #460D, was later repainted to Big Sky Blue, became BN #680, and was traded in to EMD on an order of GP38-2's in April 1972.
