MILW 4-6-0 #1110 - Milwaukee Road
This loco wore many numbers during its lifetime. Built by Baldwin in September of 1900 as Chicago, Milwaukee & St Paul Vauclain compound 4-6-0 ten wheeler #320, the Milwaukee Shops were kept busy renumbering this loco - in 11/1906 to CMStP #1620, renumberred in 11/1912 to CMStP #4220, simplified & renumbered to CMStP #2772, and finally renumbered to CMStP&P #1110. The loco was retired in March of 1952 and eventually scrapped after nearly 52 years of service. This photo shows it waiting for the scrapper's torch already sans headlight, number board and bell. Simplfied specs - 69" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 22x26" cylinders, engine wt of 187,600 lb, tractive effort of 31,004 lb and superheated. No photographer was listed for the photo.
