Here is page 74 of a 78-page booklet published by Harry P. Albrecht entitled "Those Amazing Class 'D' Locomotives." It was issued originally in June of 1981. All four of these photos depict Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1223, a D-16SB (4-4-0) "American" built in Juniata as a D-16B during 1905, later rebuilt as a D-16SB, then sold to the Strasburg Rail Road in October of 1960, and presently on display at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. Partial Caption: "The most amazing D-16sb is the No. 1223, which rolled out of the Juniata Shops in 1905 as a D-16b." |
