Built by PRR and GE in December of 1937, this powerful double ended electric locomotive ran for many years before the Penn Central merger. PRR 4858 became PC 4858 and after a few years became CR 4859. Upon retirement in February of 1980, this loco was preserved at the Trasportation Center in Harrisburg, PA and received a notable recognition, namely it was designated as the Pennsylvania state electri locomotive in 1987.
