Here is an original photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken near Manasquan, New Jersey, in July of 1955. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5477, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during September of 1927 and retired in October of 1956 after 29 years of faithful service. In this context, it's rockin' 'n' rollin' with a dozen passenger coaches on a commuter run. ("VDF"; #6 of 7) |
