Elegance in appliances  Contributor's Pick!
I have to keep reminding myself, in todays age of steel tubes, that there once was a certain elegance to industrial design. This number board on a DLW MU may not be an important detail, but it appears an effort was made to make it look attractive while functional.

Alan Page General Well said and portrayed, Tom! Sad that elegance in design is so often lost in the cost reduction manufacturing of many things around us today. The "blah' and bland items include many autos and ho hum locomotives. Our modern culture is missing something without the esthetics and style of our lives brightened by industrial designers like the late Raymond Loewy. 12/10/2016 6:44:06 AM
