derek gatt General Highlighted word not in dictionary: factory ordered purpose built units from GMD (general motors diesels canada) in 1978-1980 for hump service with gp38-2s class gh-00a and gh-00b respectively while class gy-00b 451-462 from 1980 .the gh's had a/c blowers and the gy's had d/c blowers most of the gy's now have been renumbered in the 200-214 seriesand re classified gy-00c and assigned to work with rebuilt gp9's.also more to the 5/20/2008 5:37:50 AM
Tim Steeves General This is the actually the 2nd #277. The 1st #277, a HBU-4, has been renumbered 517. This 277 is built from CN GP9 #4459. There is a noticable difference in length. 12/20/2009 2:59:08 PM
