Peering through the water intake archway for the Morris Canal, H74 begins its journey from the NS Lehigh Line main, across the ex-Lehigh & Hudson River iron truss bridge over the Delaware River and onto the NS Portland, PA Secondary. The Morris Canal connected the Delaware River at Phillipsburg with the Hudson River at Jersey City. Immediately inside the arch began incline Plane 11 West, lifting the canal barge 35 feet up from the riverbed. Except for a few random stone blocks, nothing remains today of Plane 11 West. 1057 hours.
